Christmas Cards - Nov 2012

These are the Christmas Cards we made - I believe it was our November Class.

This card was made using the Snow Much Fun Set and the new Woodgrain Embossing Folder.

I had all these felt decorations from last year and wanted to use them up.  So we created cards that would use the felt decor.  They matched well with the Gumball Green and Cherry Cobbler colors.

I love the new rhinestones.  They add easy bling to projects.

This card would make a cute gift card holder but we just made it into a regular card using the Top Note die.

I bought the aviary stamp set and never used it so when I saw a similar card to this I had to pull out the set.  The punch is retired - another must have that I had never used so we pulled it out.  The bling ont he bottom of the bird cage is the center of the glimmer paper flower.  Then we used the silver dazzling details to and bling along the scallop border.

Halloween 2012

These are projects that we made for our Halloween Class.  We used the Rosette die to make the witch's skirts.

I love the owl punch - it made for these very cute Halloween Owls.  The fence is made from the Rosette die.

This card idea I got from Ashley my upline.  I did not have the alphabet stamp that she used so we used the Big Shot to cut out the letters.

This little treat container is made from an empty embellishment container.  The Rosette die is used as the background.

I love the Fancy Favor Die.  It makes the cutest treat boxes and so easy to decorte.  We made a Monster Munch mix to fill the containers.

Spooky Bouquet

So a couple of my sidelines won a rosette flower at convention.  I loved them and I had to make some myself.  I had some old DSP and went to working making my Spooky Bouquet.  I absolutely love it!

The filler in the jar is made with Great Northern Beans spray painted black.  The stems are wrapped in a Halloween Lace Ribbon - Retired. I put the rosettes together with hot glue using the new silicone pad from Stampin Up.  It made things so much easier to put together.

Stampin Up I Am Convention 2012

Last week I attended the Stampin Up Convention 2012.  It was a lot of fun.  We got lots of new ideas and I am so excited to try some new things this upcoming Stampin Up Year.  The classes that I was able to attend were the following:

I Am Savvy - Where we got lots of great ideas for using ribbon and fabric.

I am a Leader - This was taught by Brian Pilling and he used the analogy of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and what kind of leader we would like to be (Pappa Bear Approach, Momma Bear Approach or the Baby Bear Approach).  There were several quotes in there that reminded me of my daytime boss and what kind of leader he is :) He gave us words to live by...
Brian's Balanced Business Basics:
1. Your Business
2. Personal Renewal
3. Their Business
4. Random Acts of Kindess

Top Tips for being balanced:
1.  Set Office Hours and Stick to them.
2.  Ask Yourself - Is it worth it.  What goal does it help me reach.
3.  Schedule reoccurning events now.
4.  Plan for multiple ecents at once.

I Am Having Fun - This was taught by Shannon West - about different things we can do to have fun in our workshops or classes.  I came home and did the dance for Dave - Disco Roll, John Travolta, Hitch A Ride, Roller Coaster, and the guns :)

How to appeal to all 5 senses. She gave usa recipe for an apple dip that sounds great:

8 oz cream cheese
1/2 cup brown suggar
splash of vanilla
Handful of Crunchy Stuff

I Am Open For Business taught by Carrie Cudney - and she talked about Fishing - how to attract new customers.

I Am Doing Business My Way - Hosted by Bonnie Thurber where she had Tami White and Rhonda Wade talk about how they were able to keeps sales up and make money by running their businesses differently but both were successful.

I Am Making Money - Hosted  by Pam Morgan.

Ashley is my upline and this is her downline group that went to convention this year.  You can see the cute bag we got that Melinda is wearing.

By attendign different classes we won the exclusive I Am... stamp set.  Here it is:

Downsizing Project

I have so many stamps that I decided it was time to start downsizing my inventory.  One way I decided to do this was to design a class around a retired set and then have a drawing for that set.  This class helps me to use up retired product - introduce current and new product and downsize my stamp inventory.  Congratulations to Melissa who won the stamp set highlighted this evening.
