Christmas Box with Cards

My sister saw the Halloween box when she came over the other day. She had made a comment about needing one for every month for her desk at work. But then I think the idea overwhelmed her but it got me thinking. Her birthday is coming up and so I thought I would make her some. I see this as a great opportunity to use up some retiried DSP and make some really cute boxes for gifts. so here is the box and cards that go into the bottom drawer. Thanks Becky for the inspiration.

Eat Drink and Be Scary

I just love this project. It was so fun to put together and I absolutely love the finished project. This was a project that Becky designed for U-Stamp and when I saw it I couldn't wait to try it. This is what the box looks like from the front.

The bottom drawer pulls out and it is big enough to hold full cards. The top lid comes off and can hold treats or something.

Here are the cards that I put in the drawer. I thought the front was cute and just turned that into a matching card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sept Club Project

I saw these little Halloween Treat Envelopes on Becky's Blog so decided to try one out and see if I would like to make one for a club project. It was really easy to put together and you really just can't go wrong with Batty For You :)

Wild About You Apple Cider

I really like this card. I know it is the Apple Cider DSP. This pattern was my most favorite from the package. I thought I had a full pack of Button Latte but could not find them - so I used a white button - but I think it would look better with a vanilla button.

Ink: Really Rust, River Rock. Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip

Paper: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Apple Cider DSP

Accessories: 5/8" Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Button Latte, Antique Brass Brad

Wild About You

My mom's birthday is coming up and have been thinking about what to get her for her birthday. She has everything and does she really need more stuff :) So I decided to make her a bunch of Wild About You cards. My mum is a principal at a local elementary school and their theme this year is Wild About Learning. So I thought I would make her 50 cards using this set. And she could give appreciation notes to her staff to let them know she is wild about them and it will follow their school theme. I think she will love them. I am making at least 2 of each card and then with some of them I may make up to 12 - depending on how much retired DSP I had. My goal with the wild about you cards - is first to make cute cards - but then to use some of my retired product. So the next several posts you will see retired paper and ribbon - but also cute cards and cute ideas :)

Stamps: Wild About You
Paper: Blue Bayou, Close to Cocoa and Whisper White
Ink: Blue Bayou, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, So Saffron, Ruby Red
Accessories: 5/8" chocoalte chip grosgrain ribbon, Dimensionals

Thank You Kindly

I saw this set of cards when I was out at Ashley's house and just loved them. I went home an mounted my Circus Circles set so I could make these cards. I didn't change a thing as they were perfect. I made 6 of them - one in each of the In-Colors. The card size is 5x5. Here is the recipe:
Stamps: Circus Circles, Thank You Kindly
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Paper: Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Burmuda Bay, Soft Suede, Dusty Durango and Crushed Curry
Accessoreis: Scallop Square Die, Perfect Details Texture Plate, Scallop Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Chocolate Chip double stitched ribbon, sponge to distress the edges and dimensionals.

Circus Circles

This is a super simple card that I saw this card on SCS and just had to case it. My goal has been when I see something I like make it right away to reduce the number in my favorites folder. The first thing I loved with this card was the colors. You can't go wrong with chocolate chip :) Then I love the circles. It uses the Final Press Embossing Envelope to emboss the chocolate chip piece and then emboss a white piece punch the circles out of. If I made this again I would probably use the white satin ribbon as organza ribbon looks a little more like vanilla against this card.

Season of Joy

This has been another one of my neglected Christmas sets so want to be sure to use it. I usually use the tree from this set so happy to find use for a different stamp from this set. I also love the Petals of Plenty background embossing folder.

Holiday Line Up with Snowflake #2

I absolutely love this set - I just have to use it in small doses to reduce the color time. The Big Shot is also one of those tools that I turn to daily. The snowflake die is one of my favorite.

Winter Post with Lovely As A Tree

This is another card that I CASED from SCS. The original stamper used the Wood Notes. I used Very Vanilla. Winter Post was one of those sets that I wasn't planning to get. I really liked it but it reminded me of another postcard set that I had gotten years ago and never used & I thought the same would happen with this set. Then my friend Terry used this set on a project last year so I got it so we could have it on hand. And glad I did. I loved the gift tags that we made last year and the pocket card made in July. This set just reminds me of an old fashion Christmas. Also looking at my Lovely as a Tree set - I haven't used any of the stamps except for the one with lots of trees. Trying to change that this fall as well. I just love the colors of Rich Razzleberry and Black together.

Two Cool Dudes

I CASED this card fom SCS. I am really trying to utilize the sets I have and not have any more retire on me with them still being new and unmounted. This will be one of the cards for Septembers Christmas Card Class. Love the snowman. Never thought about using it with Real Red. I think Snowman and I think some form of blue. But I really like it with the red.

Halloween Treat Box

I love the way this box turned out. I think it is the DSP :) Love the colors and the Batty For You. I am planning to fill this Halloween Popcorn. I used one of the tags from the matchbox die. I had a lot left over that I had cut when making the advent tree. So decided to use them up here.

Halloween Water Bottle Holder

Batty For You is my most favorite Halloween set. You can use it on all types of projects. This is a water bottle holder using the From the Crypt DSP. Great addition to any Halloween event.

Halloween Pillow Box

I just love the Halloween Paper this year. While planning projects for the Halloween Treats class I ended up turning to this paper for almost every project. I haven't used the pillow box too much and I love how quick and easy this was to put together. The ribbon keeps the box closed so you don't need much adhesive.

Remake of the Halloween Treat Bag

I like this one much better. So I added DSP and changed the stamp set. The pumpkin stamps I had were too big and then I found these buttons that my sister-in-law had given me. She brought them back from Mexico. They made a cute addition to the treat bag.

Angie's 2nd Card

The Thinking of You card that Angie made for her friend - loved it so much that she asked her to make her some thank you cards. So this is the card we decided to make. When I first saw this in the IB&C I loved it. Since I had made the Hot Air Baloon cards I had left over Mellow Moss DSP so we just changed up the green. She did a great job putting them together - again impressing her friend and building her confidence. Great job Angie.

Frankie Matchbook Candy Holder

This was such an easy project - I just love it. I took the layout idea from a card in the IB&C and changed it up a little to be a matchbook. It fits a fun size bag of candy like M&M's. The paper is cut at 3x8 1/2". Score at 5" and at 1". Decorate the front - staple in the candy and close. So easy!
Stamps: 24-7, Smarty Pants, and Batty For You
Ink: Old Olive, Basic Black
Paper: Old Olive, Summer Sun, Whisper White
Accessories: 1/4" Black Grosgrain Ribbon, scallop edge punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch.

Matchbox Die - Batty For You

I really liked this project. The Matchbox Die is so easy to use and I love using Batty For You for Halloween projects. And I love this years Cast-a-spell DSP. It makes cute nugget covers.
